Terms of Service
What you are agreeing to when you book a yard with us — written plainly, and only about things this product actually does.
LAST UPDATED AUGUST 14, 2026
This agreement
These terms apply to gatehog.com and the GateHog mobile app for iOS and Android. By creating an account, booking a spot, or using a yard you have booked, you agree to them.
GateHog lists secure vehicle yards and takes bookings for them. Bookings, payments and notifications run on the Flame Truck Parking platform, and your account and booking records live there.
If you are booking for a company, you are confirming you are allowed to agree to these terms on its behalf.
Your account
- You sign in with your phone
- There is no password. We text a one-time code to your number, and anyone who can receive that text can reach your account — so keep control of the number, and tell us if you lose it.
- Your details must be accurate
- Particularly your vehicle's length and plate. Spot sizes are matched to vehicle length, so an inaccurate length can mean the spot you booked does not physically fit your vehicle.
- One account per person
- Do not share an account or let someone else book under yours. If you need several drivers on one company account, contact us instead.
Bookings
- What you are booking
- A spot of a stated size at a specific yard, for a stated term. You are booking space to park a vehicle — not a named bay, and not storage of goods.
- Prices are set per yard
- Each yard publishes its own rates by spot size and term. There is no single sitewide price list, and the rate shown on that yard's page at the time you book is the rate that applies.
- Availability is checked when you book
- Spots are held briefly while you pay. If a hold expires before payment completes, the spot returns to general availability and you may need to start again.
- Your booking is for your vehicle
- Do not resell, sublet or transfer a booking to someone else.
Payment
- Cards are handled by Stripe
- Card details are entered in a form Stripe hosts. GateHog never sees or stores a full card number — we keep only what Stripe reports back, such as the last four digits and whether a charge succeeded.
- You are charged for the term you book
- The amount shown at checkout is the amount charged, in US dollars.
- Failed or reversed payments
- If a payment fails, is reversed, or is charged back, we may suspend the booking and the gate access that goes with it until it is settled.
Getting into the yard
- Access is a code, texted to you
- You enter it at the gate keypad. The GateHog app cannot open a gate — no screen in it will ever claim to have opened one, because no such capability exists.
- The code is yours alone
- Do not pass it to anyone who is not driving your vehicle. Access codes tie entries to a booking, so sharing one attributes someone else's entry to you.
- Access hours vary by yard
- Some yards allow entry around the clock and some do not. What each yard offers is stated on that yard's page — do not assume a yard is open when you arrive.
At the yard
Yards are operated by their owners and operators, not by GateHog directly. Rules posted at a site — where to park, speed limits, what may be left on a spot, how to check in — apply to you while you are there, and staff can ask you to leave if you do not follow them.
Park only the vehicle your booking is for, in the spot you were assigned, and leave the spot as you found it.
Security, risk and insurance
Yards differ in what they have — fencing, cameras and gated entry are listed per yard, and what a listing states is what that yard has. Those measures reduce risk. They are not a guarantee against theft, damage, weather or vandalism, and no yard is monitored continuously by a person.
You park at your own risk. GateHog does not take custody of your vehicle or its contents and is not a warehouse or storage operator — keep your own insurance in force, and do not leave anything in a vehicle you cannot afford to lose.
Tell us and the yard promptly if something happens, so it can be looked into while there is still something to look at.
Cancelling a booking
Cancelling submits a cancellation request. A yard administrator reviews it — your booking stays active, and keeps its spot and access, until the request is approved.
This is deliberate, and the product says so everywhere it offers the action: nothing in GateHog will tell you a booking is cancelled before it actually is.
If you have not paid yet, there is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund — an unpaid booking is simply released.
- 24 hours or more before your booking starts
- Full refund of what you paid.
- Between 4 and 24 hours before it starts
- Half of what you paid is refunded.
- Less than 4 hours before it starts
- No refund. The spot was held for you and is too late to resell, which is what the rate paid for.
- How the refund reaches you
- It is calculated when the administrator approves the request, and returned to the card you paid with. How soon it appears on your statement is up to your bank, not us.
- An administrator can decide differently
- The tiers above are the default. Someone reviewing your request can set a different amount for the circumstances — a breakdown, a yard problem, an honest mistake. Say what happened when you cancel; it is read by a person.
What you may not do
- Use a yard unlawfully
- Including parking a vehicle you are not entitled to possess, or using a spot for anything illegal.
- Misrepresent your vehicle or your booking
- Booking one size and parking another affects every other driver at that yard.
- Interfere with the service
- No scraping, no automated booking, no attempts to reach accounts or yard systems that are not yours.
Suspension and ending your account
You can stop using GateHog at any time; email us and we will close your account and delete your data as described in the privacy policy.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that a yard has asked us to bar, or that has unpaid or reversed charges. Where we can, we will tell you why first.
Changes to these terms
We update these terms when the product changes — the date at the top is when this version took effect. If a change materially affects an active booking, we will tell you rather than relying on you re-reading this page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, and disputes belong to the state and federal courts serving Pierce County, Washington.
GateHog's physical address is 4521 Pioneer Way E, Tacoma, WA 98443. Mail can be sent to PO Box 1482, Auburn, WA 98071.
Questions about any of this
Ask before you book rather than after — especially about a yard's access hours or what happens to a booking you may need to cancel.
